This Advent we are embarking on a 4 week Advent course looking at the ‘songs’ of Advent. These songs are the poetic exclamations we find in the Bible which express profound and joyful truths and convey the deep emotions of key figures in the lead up to Jesus’ birth. We are running this course in person at Immanuel and St Andrew Church Common Room at 2pm – 3.30pm and also in the evening online via Zoom at 7.30pm – 9pm. A PRAYER FOR ADVENT

God of hope, who brought love into this world,
be the love that dwells between us.
God of hope, who brought peace into this world,
be the peace that dwells between us.
God of hope, who brought joy into this world,
be the joy that dwells between us.
God of hope, the rock we stand upon,
be the centre, the focus of our lives
always, and particularly this Advent time.
