We would love to help you solemnise and celebrate your wedding day. Getting married in Immanuel Church is open to all those who live in the parish or who have a qualifying connection to the church. Please visit the Church of England website’s wedding page for more information and to find out about planning your ceremony.
Alternatively, contact Revd Sarah Simpson at email@example.com.
Banns of Marriage
Before a wedding takes place in the Church of England, banns need to be read in the parish where each of you lives, as well as in the church in which you are to be married if that is somewhere else. If you need to have your banns read at our church please do get in touch and we would be delighted to arrange this.
Baptisms, Christenings and Thanksgiving Services
Baptism is the ceremony which marks and celebrates the entrance of a person into the family of God – the Church. It is an affirmation of faith in God and a commitment to follow Jesus. People can be baptised at any age; when a baby is baptised it is often referred to as a Christening.
You are welcome to be baptised or to have your child Christened at Immanuel if you live in our parish or are a regular member of our congregation. We also offer a Thanksgiving Service if parents would simply like to celebrate and thank God for the new life entrusted to their care. These events take place within our Sunday morning services and people are very welcome to invite guests to celebrate with them.
It is never easy losing a loved one. We are here to draw alongside you in your bereavement. Everyone is entitled to a Church of England funeral in their local church, regardless of whether they attended church or not. We can help prepare and lead a personal service which gives space to celebrate life and to grieve while also offering comfort and hope.
Arrangements will normally be made in consultation with funeral directors but do feel free to contact us directly as well at firstname.lastname@example.org.
You can find out more about church funerals on the Church of England website.
