On this page are photos that were taken when scaffolding surrounded Immanuel and St Andrew's tower in 2002. All except the first are views taken from the
scaffolding. Please scroll down to see them, or use the 'Previous' and 'Next' links here and by the photos.

Scaffolding surrounds the tower of Immanuel and St. Andrew Church building.
In the first part of 2002 a major refurbishment of the hall was undertaken (the "Hall Renewal Project"). At the same time, following a small fall of masonry from the tower, it was found that extensive repairs to the tower stonework were needed. It was agreed that the work on the tower should be added to the hall project and scaffold appeared round the tower in record time. As the trees turned green for Spring our tower turned green with safety netting!
Streatham Common - viewed from the top level of the scaffolding (and slightly above the present tower roof!).
This photo and the ones below were take on a beautiful Spring day during an inspection of the work on the tower.
Similar views could be had today from the top of the tower, but there is no public access to the tower and ascending it is by special arrangement only.
Streatham Common - a slightly different view from the photo above, again from the top level of the scaffolding.
The High Road, looking towards Central Streatham and London.
Also taken from the top level of the scaffolding.
A view of the common from a lower level of the scaffold...
...with a better view of the trees in blossom!
